I’m so glad you decided to prepare a budget.  But before you start, here are a few things to think about before you establish your very own cash flow plan.

Your budget must make sense, if not – you’ll never use it. Just because you found my free printable does not mean that you are now good to go.  You need to fill it out and stick to it!  Remember, you must tell your money where to go.

Keep Budgeting Simple

So many people fail with budgeting because they go from not budgeting AT ALL to trying to create the perfect budget on the first try. They buy the most expensive software or download a 50-page spreadsheet. Then they procrastinate because they made it too complicated.

I find it’s the simple things that work best. Don’t overdo it. Don’t make your first budget extremely difficult by tracking 50 spending categories. How long will you keep that up?

Simple steps work best.  Just sit down, slow down and fill out the categories that are for you and begin there.  You can get more detailed the 2nd month and so on. If you’re just getting started – keep it simple.  This budget planner will help you do just that.

Review Your Budget and Stay on Track

This is very important. Creating a budget is not something you do just once and then check off your list.

Life changes and so will your budget. For that reason, make one every month. Then review it, adjust it, and use it if it is going to work for you.

Personally, I sit down every Sunday evening to pay my bills, fill in my budget, and make any important money decisions.

Setting up our spending plan is only the first step. Sticking to it is even more important. Motivate yourself by thinking about the vision you set for your financial future. When you’re tempted to splurge and derail your financial future — resist the urge by remembering your goals.  And put some fun money in your budget or what I’d like to call, guilt free spending and enjoy yourself!

Also, hold yourself accountable if you fall back into bad spending habits. For example – If you spend too much on non-essential items, you need to balance out your mistake by spending less in another category, so it balances to zero.  You do not get off the hook. If you spent $20 more than you should have on clothes, then you must spend $20 less in another area to not blow the budget.

Use this simple, yet useful FREE Printable that will help you plan your budget over and over again! It will help you win with money if you stick with it. download it now and start taking control of your money and improving your financial future!

Lastly, the goal of making a budget is so YOU can assign your money it’s purpose and tame the chaos. It’s not possible to learn how to handle money or create order and function until you know yourself. So, create your simple budget today.
